Sailor x mizutama Dark Beige - 4ml Fountain Pen Ink Sample
Details
Hue: A muted greyish taupe-brown with a soft mauve undertone. Be aware that it is noticeably darker and cooler than "beige" suggests. Written lines read as a dusky grey-brown, and where the ink pools it turns distinctly mauve-purple with dark olive edges.
Shading: Moderate. It shades clearly from pale taupe to deep grey-brown, and the shading is visible in normal handwriting.
Sheen: None observed.
Shimmer: None.
Flow: Medium.
The interesting bit: This ink comes from Sailor's collaboration with mizutama, the Japanese illustrator and eraser-stamp artist known for her gentle drawings of a little girl, food and the countryside. Its Japanese name is Yosooi, meaning "dressing up". The label shows the girl putting on her beret for an outing, with a rabbit and flowers alongside her. It was one of three inks in the collaboration, with Eastern Blue and Faded Orange.
