Ferris Wheel Press Everyday Collection Currant Crumble Pie - 4ml Fountain Pen Ink Sample
Details
Hue: Officially a cherry maroon. On my swatches it writes noticeably pinker and brighter than that: a raspberry-magenta in the dip-pen bar and handwriting. The deeper maroon only appears where the ink pools.
Shading: Moderate. You can see it in the swab bar, from a lighter raspberry to a darker berry. It’s gentle in fine writing.
Sheen: Green sheen on the pooled edges of the swabs and along the edges of the swab bar. Don’t expect it in everyday writing.
Shimmer: Gold, and plenty of it. It’s strong in the swabs and visible in the swab bar, and lighter in the writing sample. The shimmer settles, so give the vial a gentle roll before filling.
Flow: Medium
The interesting bit: The ink is Pumpkin’s signature bake. Pumpkin is Ferris Wheel Press’s baker character, and the box art shows his messy worktop with spilled flour, cracked eggs, whisks, rolling pins and his trusty cookbook. The bilingual label gives the French name as Croustade aux Groseilles. Groseilles are redcurrants, so the French name is more specific about the fruit than the English one.
This is a hand-decanted 4ml sample vial from my own bottle.
Photos are my own swatches on Tomoe River Paper.
I’m a collector and I’m always happy to talk ink, so please message me if you have any questions.
