Fanyantan When The Peach Wakes - 4ml Fountain Pen Ink Sample
Fanyantan When The Peach Wakes - 4ml Fountain Pen Ink Sample
Details
Hue: A soft, dusty peach-tan in writing. Pooled, it deepens to a rosy cinnamon-brown with dark red-brown edges and a muted mauve cast. Browner and more muted in my swatches than the name suggests; this is not a bright or pink peach.
Shading: Clear shading in normal writing, moving from pale peach to a deeper tan where ink collects.
Sheen: None to speak of in writing. Heavy pools show a faint grey-violet cast along the darkest lines.
Shimmer: None.
Flow: Medium.
The interesting bit: Fanyantan is a Chinese ink studio known for complex, colour-shifting inks, and the packaging is half the appeal. The bottle label shows blossoming branches trailing over rippling water, and the box carries a character illustration printed entirely in the ink's own peach-brown tones.
This is a hand-decanted 4ml sample vial from my own bottle. Photos are my own swatches on Tomoe River Paper. I'm a collector and I'm always happy to talk ink, so please message me if you have any questions.
