Colorverse x BlueBlack HunminChongum Manuscript — 4ml Fountain Pen Ink Sample
Details
This ink is a BlueBlack Pen Shop Exclusive
Hue: A warm sepia brown — tea-stained, aged-manuscript brown in ordinary writing, dropping to a cooler grey-taupe where the ink pools. Colorverse publish no official colour description for this release, so the hue above is read from my own swatches.
Shading: High. The dip-pen bar runs from pale tan at the edges to dark grey-brown in the wet centre, and the swabs separate strongly — rusty red-brown lifting out at the rims against a cool grey core. If you like chromatic separation, this one delivers it.
Sheen: None.
Shimmer: None.
Flow: Medium.
The interesting bit: Named for the Hunminjeongeum Haerye, the 1446 commentary volume that explains how King Sejong's new Korean alphabet was designed and how to use it. The bottle label carries the opening lines of the text. The surviving Kansong copy is a National Treasure of South Korea and went onto the UNESCO Memory of the World register in 1997. The colour is doing the obvious job of the name — ink on six-hundred-year-old paper, warm and faded rather than black.
This is a hand-decanted 4ml sample vial from my own bottle.
Photos are my own swatches on Tomoe River Paper.
I'm a collector and I'm always happy to talk ink, so please message me if you have any questions.

A 4ml vial, hand-decanted by me from my own bottle. Swatch photos are mine, on Tomoe River paper. Colours vary with paper, nib and screen, so treat them as a good guide rather than an exact match.
