Wearingeul World Literature Anna Karenina — 4ml Fountain Pen Ink Sample
Details
Hue: Retailers describe a rose red base. My swatches are considerably deeper than that — a dark wine burgundy, closer to black cherry where it pools, and only reading as a bright raspberry-red in the thinnest strokes. If you're expecting rose, this isn't it.
Shading: Moderate. The pools go from a mid raspberry through to near-black at the edges, though at writing width the line stays fairly even.
Sheen: None.
Shimmer: Yes — fine red shimmer, which shows in my photos as a satin lustre across the swabs rather than obvious sparkle.
Flow: Medium.
The interesting bit: Wearingeul's World Literature series is part of what the Korean brand calls The Color of Literature — inks built around the mood of a specific book rather than a scene from it. This one is for Tolstoy's 1878 novel, and the brief was the pull of Anna's affair and the social ruin that came with it. Tolstoy considered Anna Karenina his first true novel, having decided War and Peace didn't qualify.
This is a hand-decanted 4ml sample vial from my own bottle.
