Lennon Tool Bar Winter Tonics in Taiwan #3 Dried Guava — 4ml Fountain Pen Ink Sample
Details
Hue: Olive-moss green. Retailers list it simply as "green", but on paper it leans noticeably yellow-olive in thinner areas, deepening to a dark forest olive where it pools. The handwriting and swab bar show a mid olive green, so it is earthier than a straight green.
Shading: Moderate in my swatches, with clear light-to-dark variation in both the swab bar and the handwriting. One retailer lists shading as low, so expect it to vary with pen and paper.
Sheen: None seen. Heavy pools dry to a very dark green edge but show no sheen.
Shimmer: None.
Flow: Medium
The interesting bit: Part of Lennon Tool Bar's 2024 winter collection, Winter Tonics in Taiwan (Vol. 3). The collection is themed on cosy winter snacks enjoyed indoors while the northeast monsoon blows. 芭樂乾 (ba le gan) means dried guava. 芭樂 is the everyday Taiwanese word for guava, and the brand pitches it as the guilt-free winter treat. Lennon Tool Bar began in 2014 in Tamsui as an indigo-dyeing workshop and later started making inks to promote traditional dye colours.
This is a hand-decanted 4ml sample vial from my own bottle.
