Kobe INK Monogatari Felissimo Chocolate Museum Milk Chocolate - 4ml Fountain Pen Ink Sample
Details
Hue: Officially a soft, light brown. My swatches read warmer and rosier than that. The written line is a dusty rose-brown with a clear pink undertone, not a neutral tan. Where the ink pools it deepens towards a mauve-brown.
Shading: Strong. There's a clear light-to-dark range in the swab and visible variation in normal writing. Heavier swabs also show some separation, with a peachy-tan outer edge and darker brown banding.
Sheen: None seen. The dark rims in the swabs are pooled ink edges, not sheen.
Shimmer: None.
Flow: Medium.
The interesting bit: This ink is a collaboration between Kobe INK Monogatari, the Nagasawa Stationery series that puts Kobe into colour, and the Felissimo Chocolate Museum. The museum opened in Kobe's port district in 2021 and collects chocolate packaging from around the world, and Kobe itself has a long history of chocolatiers and Western confectionery. Nagasawa describes the ink as mellow and soothing, meant for writing everyday thank-yous. It has two sister shades, Bitter Chocolate and Strawberry Chocolate.
This is a hand-decanted 4ml sample vial from my own bottle.
