Details
Hue: Officially a deep periwinkle blue. On my swatches it leans more violet than blue: a dusky, mid-toned blue-violet in the writing, lavender in the lighter washes, and near-indigo where it pools.
Shading: Moderate. There's clear light-to-dark variation in the dip-pen line and the handwriting, with darker pooling at the ends of strokes.
Sheen: Low. A faint reddish-bronze edge shows on the heaviest pools and drops only. There's none in the writing sample.
Shimmer: None.
Flow: Dry
The interesting bit: Harlequin Dream is from Ferris Wheel Press's Midnight Masquerade Collection, which is set on a night at the theatre where the monocled Lord H.H. Evergreen watches his troupe of acrobats. The French name on the label, Rêve à Losanges, means roughly "diamond-patterned dream". It's a nod to Harlequin's diamond-patchwork costume. The packaging artwork includes the Bearlarinas and a tightrope-walking raccoon.
