On my swatches the written line is brighter and more yellow-green than that suggests, nearer lime than olive in lighter strokes. It deepens to olive where the ink pools, and to a very dark, almost black green at the edges of heavy pools. I don’t see obvious gold or brown in my swatches.

Shading: Strong. Rohrer & Klingner started out as a Leipzig lithography ink maker in 1892 and still makes ink to traditional recipes. This has long been one of their most popular colours. When one US retailer was deciding whether to stock the range, customers told them to work out their order and then double the Alt-Goldgrün.

This is a hand-decanted 4ml sample vial from my own bottle.
Photos are my own swatches on Tomoe River Paper.
I’m a collector and I’m always happy to talk ink, so please message me if you have any questions.
