In a writing line it sits light and golden; in pooled areas it drops to a distinctly russet, red-brown depth. Worth knowing before you buy: my swatches read browner and warmer than the official description suggests.

Shading: Strong. Huatan Township in Changhua was once a centre of jasmine growing, the blossoms used to scent green tea. The maker found that jasmine hydrosol is still distilled there today, bought some, and blended it into the ink — the question they set themselves was what colour a fragrance would be if you could see it. This is the answer, and yes, it is a scented ink; the jasmine is faint and comes off the bottle rather than the page.

This is a hand-decanted 4ml sample vial from my own bottle.
Photos are my own swatches on Tomoe River Paper.
I'm a collector and I'm always happy to talk ink, so please message me if you have any questions.
