They form when Siberian winds coat the trees in layers of ice and snow. On a few dawns each year the frozen forest glows purple, and that is the colour this ink captures. The 02+ is the shimmer version of Hachimonjiya’s original Rime on Trees Amethyst, made with Tono & Lims. The blue and silver particles stand in for the snow crystals catching the sunrise. Hachimonjiya itself is a Yamagata bookshop dating back to 1695.

This is a hand-decanted 4ml sample vial from my own bottle.
Photos are my own swatches on Tomoe River Paper.
I’m a collector and I’m always happy to talk ink, so please message me if you have any questions.

https://thepensmuggler.co.uk/products/hachimonjiya-rime-on-trees-amethyst-02-4ml-fountain-pen-ink-sample
